Stars At Sea Dancers 2010 |
On May 13 - 17 2010 the dancers of InMotion Dance West embarked upon a great adventure and performance accomplishment. Twelve of the InMotion Dancers set sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Cozumel Mexico on a five day cruise. During that time, they had a glorious stay on the Royal Carribean Grandeur of the Seas Cruise ship, but also had a taste of what it meant to dance aboard a ship and provide the entertainment for all its guests. Amidst basking in the sun, shopping in Key West, and snorkeling and dolphin swimming in Cozumel, these dancers also upheld a daily rehearsal schedule to prepare for their 30 minutes of stardom at the Palladium Theatre aboard the ship. Inspired by the professional nightly entertainment, the dancers diligently watched the other dancers perform, and soon were taught by "Troy" the Dance Captain of the Grandeur of the Seas in a one hour Lester Horton dance workshop which was awesome! The dancers then prepared themselves for their own performance later that same day and enjoyed the pay-off of many long rehearsal hours that they had put in since February. The audience was astounded by their great efforts on stage, and even Troy, and John the Cruise Director, congratulated them on an excellent job while presenting them with a special honourary plaque to remember their fantastic performance experience. A great time had by all the dancers, and all the parents who worked hard to prepare for this accomplish ment.
Congratulations everyone!
