Stars At Sea Dancers 2010 |
On May 13 - 17 2010 the dancers of InMotion Dance West embarked upon a great adventure and performance accomplishment. Twelve of the InMotion Dancers set sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Cozumel Mexico on a five day cruise. During that time, they had a glorious stay on the Royal Carribean Grandeur of the Seas Cruise ship, but also had a taste of what it meant to dance aboard a ship and provide the entertainment for all its guests. Amidst basking in the sun, shopping in Key West, and snorkeling and dolphin swimming in Cozumel, these dancers also upheld a daily rehearsal schedule to prepare for their 30 minutes of stardom at the Palladium Theatre aboard the ship. Inspired by the professional nightly entertainment, the dancers diligently watched the other dancers perform, and soon were taught by "Troy" the Dance Captain of the Grandeur of the Seas in a one hour Lester Horton dance workshop which was awesome! The dancers then prepared themselves for their own performance later that same day and enjoyed the pay-off of many long rehearsal hours that they had put in since February. The audience was astounded by their great efforts on stage, and even Troy, and John the Cruise Director, congratulated them on an excellent job while presenting them with a special honourary plaque to remember their fantastic performance experience. A great time had by all the dancers, and all the parents who worked hard to prepare for this accomplish ment.
Congratulations everyone!

Thanks to all of your generous support in while fundraising for this spectacular trip. In total, the dancers performed at six various venues throughout Italy that included Rome, Naples, Florence and Serra Di Pratola. The shows were very successful and the dancers learned quite quickly, how to adapt to their surroundings and the various stages (and change rooms) they had to work with. After months of preparation, choreographing rehearsing, and hard work, audiences in each of these places were extremely pleased with the entertainment provided by the dancers and praised them superlatively. Along side performing, the schedules were extremely busy with so many sites to see including Pompeii, Venice, Pisa, and St. Francis of Assissi to name a few, all thanks to our superb tour guide Norman, and our diligent bus driver, Fabrizio.
This dance excursion has hopefully marked the future dance excursions to come! The world is a very large place… waiting for InMotion Dance to entertain its masses!

In June 2006, InMotion Dance School was invited to perform at the Disney Magic Music Days Festival at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, Florida. The students were ecstatic to bring their performance skills to an international stage and showed a great deal of professionalism as they performed a half hour segment in the driving heat with great exuberance and vitality for the audience to enjoy. While sharing the stage, they also shared many laughs and experiences that left them remembering the Disney night skies filled with fireworks for many years to come. A great time, and a great show!
